GEAR STUFFSome folks get off on this kind of thing,
and I confess to more than a passing interest in "what makes
that sound?" from time to time, so I thought I'd throw this stuff
down here. I play with the following, among other things:
1987 Les Paul Standard, '59 Reissue. This is my baby. Enormous frets and a pair of Seymour Duncan '59 pickups make her go.
1971 Les Paul Custom. I use 0.010 Ernie Ball strings, more often than
not.
Epiphone Les Paul w/ Gibson pickups. These are GREAT guitars once
you get rid of the nasty stock pickups and put real ones in.
Bogner Shiva 1x12, EL-34 model. As near as I can tell, Bogner makes the world's best amps. It took me almost ten years to find this sound. I also use a Morley Bad Horsie 2 wah-wah pedal, a Morley Little Alligator volume pedal, a Digitech Whammy pedal, an Ibanez tube screamer, a Boss Metal Zone distortion
pedal, and TC Electronics G-Major (rackmounted). It's a lot of stuff, but it makes good noise.
